Law enforcement training policy promulgated by the Department of Criminal Justice Services pursuant to § 9.1-102 "Powers and duties of the Board and the Department" and 6VAC20-20-21 "Compulsory Minimum Training Standards and Requirements" (Administrative Code).

Requires training on "[a]ppropriate escalation/de-escalation on a use of force continuum." Mandatory training on "[i]dentify[ing] other alternatives that the officer may consider using before using deadly force."
